Neurodiversity
While absolutely not a cure, osteopathy is a safe and gentle system of health care designed to optimise the personal health of all who receive it.
Treatment approach
Here at the Osteopath Clapham I tend to opt for the more non-invasive forms of osteopathy when treating people with congenital issues but have known the odd person to like a strong, deep massage. As with anyone, treatment is tailored to the individual’s need and preference. The focus is the person. The aim is health and well-being.
Safety and experience
Whatever the treatment approach, parents and carers can be assured that osteopathy is safe. Osteopaths are highly trained practitioners, recognised as primarily care and regulated by the General Osteopathic Council. In addition, as the Osteopath Clapham, I have many years of experience working with this patient group. I have been the resident osteopath at the Lambeth Walk day care centre for adults with profound and multiple learning difficulties for over twenty years, worked with people through Mencap and Choice and treated children with a variety of congenital and genetic issues whilst undergoing my postgraduate training in paediatric osteopathy.
