The later years
As we get older it is normal for our muscles, bones, joints and other tissues to change. Some hardly notice such changes, while others suffer stiffness and discomfort. There are also many age-related ills that can befall us: menopause, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, prostate issues, etc, etc. As highly trained, musculoskeletal healthcare professionals, regulated by law and recognised as one of the Allied Health Professions by NHS England, osteopaths are in a good position to help. Osteopathic care is safe and effective and seeks to promote the health of patients through the use of hands-on manual therapy, exercise and advice.
Get moving
At the Osteopath Clapham, whatever the presentation, I regard mobility as key. Movement refreshes all our tissues and is the basis of both physical and mental wellbeing. Safe, injury free, mobility relies on strength, postural stability and balance. As such, at the Osteopath Clapham, structural analysis and rehabilitation form fundamental components of the management programs. Other guidance may include diet, exercise or referral. Having a mum with quite devastating osteoporosis following a difficult menopause, I recognise how important are each of these elements for the health of our lovely third age generation.
